Think about right clothing.

This could be very important if you go camping in a rather cold

environment, make sure that you have enough clothing with you and consider what could you wash on your trip in between. Think about what you need for a swimming trip or a forest and mountain trip, in general don't pack to much.

Is your tent big enough?

The tent should be large to have some air mattresses for a comfortable sleep. Better having a bigger tent as a smaller tent. You should have some space and still can stack clothes or luggage. Even though it's a rather large tent it wont matter because it usually folds down to a small size, unless you are backpacking take a larger tent just to be on the safe side.

Check if there are fire restrictions or burn bans at all.

The good old campfire is banned on most places where a fire could be started easily. Some campground allow open fire and even have firewood for sale, it depends of the environment.

Very important is to check the weather forecast.

If bad weather is predicted do the trip another time. Its not amusing the hear and feel the rain in and out of the tent.

If you go on a campground check the park rules.

It is simply necessary to think about other campers since everyone have other ideas and behaviors, this is also for noise etc. and after leave your campsite in clean conditions.
